We are thrilled to announce that Down Under Discoveries has been selected as finalists for Startup Business and Tourism Excellence in the Alcoa Peel Business Excellence Awards.

Being recognized alongside such incredible businesses is truly humbling, and we thank the Peel Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. for organizing a fair and unbiased process.

After closing Down Under Discoveries in 2021, I never imagined returning to the awards scene. However, after moving to the Peel region and reopening, we've been overwhelmed by the support from our community and industry partners. We've since undergone the accreditation process again, which is why we are part of this year’s startup category.

What made us reconsider entering the awards was the announcement that independent judges from outside the region would be involved. After a supportive conversation with Lisa from the Peel Chamber, I decided to give it another shot.

Attending the announcement event and seeing my daughter’s smile when we were named as finalists was priceless. It reinforced that these awards are not about external validation but about elevating our business and creating new opportunities.
