Mandurah Trails and Tides Adventure: Coastal Hikes, Gentle Giants and Estuary Kayaking

Tour Overview

Please note: Our Mandurah Eco Tours are now closed for the winter season. WA Eco Tours recommence from November!

Join us on the Mandurah Trails and Tides Adventure, a full-day journey through the heart of Mandurah’s natural wonders, where tranquil estuary paddling meets rugged coastal hiking, all wrapped in mindful connection, citizen science, and local delights.

The day begins with a peaceful tranquil Estuary Paddle, guided by Eco Certified Kayak Guide and Dolphin Watch volunteer Chelle Fisher. As the morning sun casts a golden glow over the water, you'll paddle gently through Mandurah’s iconic canals and estuarine landscapes. Along the way, participate in a citizen science initiative through the Mandurah Dolphin Watch Project, learning how to spot and identify local dolphin residents using the latest ‘Finn Guide.’ It’s an incredible opportunity to be a citizen scientist while immersed in the natural rhythms of the estuary. Midway through the paddle, we pause at Lily Paris, a charming French patisserie café, to enjoy a relaxing morning tea of sweet treats and rich coffee. Re-energized, we continue our paddle, admiring the unique canal-side living that characterizes Mandurah’s waterways. As we complete our dolphin survey, we remain on the lookout for the local wildlife that shares this space - ospreys soaring above, cormorants diving for fish, and, if we’re lucky, a final glimpse of our dolphin friends before returning to shore.

After your kayak is docked, it’s time to head to Wood & Stone Cafe, an award-winning local favorite, where a nourishing lunch awaits in a relaxed, earthy atmosphere.

In the afternoon, your feet will take over as we begin our coastal hike along the breathtaking Mandurah Sea Explorer Trail. This trail winds through ancient limestone forests, dramatic cliff lines, and coastal heath, revealing geological formations like rhizoliths and solution pipes that date back to the Quaternary period. Along the way, we’ll encounter Santi Ikto, one of Thomas Dambo’s iconic Giants from Australia’s First Outdoor Sculpture Trail, standing as a storyteller of place and purpose.

Throughout the hike, you'll be guided through gentle forest and ocean therapy invitations, offering space for reflection, sensory awareness, and deeper connection with both self and surroundings.

The Mandurah Trails and Tides Adventure is designed to nourish body, mind, and spirit - a rich tapestry of discovery, mindfulness, and natural beauty.

Reconnect. Explore. Be moved.
