Experience Overview
A mindful nature immersion experience to restore calm, reduce stress & reconnect with the natural world.
Slow down, breathe deep, and reconnect with the healing rhythms of nature in one of Darwin’s most tranquil sanctuaries. Nestled within the lush landscapes of the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens, this Forest Bathing and Mindful Nature Immersion invites you on a sensory journey of stillness, presence, and connection.
Guided by Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide and Eco-Guide Chelle Fisher, this experience draws on the gentle, evidence-based practice of Shinrin-yoku - Japanese Forest Bathing, offering a series of mindful invitations that awaken your senses and deepen your connection with the living world around you.
Moving slowly through tropical gardens filled with towering palms, ancient Boabs, rainforest enclaves, and vibrant flowering plants, you'll experience the Gardens in a whole new way, tuning into the whispers of the trees, the scent of blossoms, and the feeling of earth beneath your feet. As you wander through rainforest paths, mangrove edges, and sun-dappled woodlands, you’ll be invited to let go of daily distractions and return to a more grounded, peaceful state of being.
We conclude with a traditional tea ceremony under the trees, where participants are welcome to share their reflections and enjoy a bush tucker–inspired morning tea, fostering connection to both community and Country.
This is not a typical walk or educational garden tour, it is a slow guided immersion through the a cherished part of Darwin’s heritage, showcasing plants from northern Australia and tropical regions across the world, including rare cycads, iconic Boab and Baobab trees, and landscapes that echo the diversity of ancient flora.
This experience is designed to support mental clarity, emotional wellbeing, and resilience.
Come as you are. Leave restored.
