This unique experience combines a 3km paddle along the tranquil Serpentine River and a 4km hike on the scenic Joseph & Dulcie Nannup Trail, offering the perfect mix of outdoor exploration and family fun.
As you journey through this stunning natural setting, you’ll have the chance to spot an array of flora and fauna, from vibrant wildflowers to majestic trees. Keep an eye out for the friendly local Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins that often grace the river with their playful presence, as well as the abundance of birdlife that calls this area home.
Guided by our experienced team and youth outdoor adventure leaders, this activity is designed to inspire a connection to nature while encouraging physical activity and resilience. Along the way, you’ll uncover the rich history and natural wonders of the region, making it a truly enriching adventure for the whole family.
Whether you’re an experienced adventurer or trying something new, the Serpentine River Paddle and Hike is an inclusive event suitable for all skill levels. Equipment for the paddle is provided, so all you need to bring is your sense of adventure, comfortable shoes, and a readiness to make unforgettable memories.

Tour length and difficulty: Easy hiking experience 4km, & paddling experience 3km
Meeting point: Riverside Gardens Foreshore, Mandurah. The tour ends at the same point.
Time: 8.30am start, 11.30am finish approx (Please allow extra time if possible)

- Paddling: The kayaking portion is around 3km in calm, sheltered waters. Sit-on-top kayaks are stable and beginner-friendly. Guides provide full instruction before launch, making it perfect for first-time paddlers.
- Swimming Ability: While not essential, a basic level of water confidence is recommended. Life jackets are worn at all times on the water.

Parking: There is parking available with dedicated accessible parking spaces for convenience.
Toilets: Toilet facilities are available at the start and end of the tour experience. Please note that while these facilities are not currently designed with accessibility in mind, they are in the process of being upgraded to improve accessibility for all visitors.
Your safety is important to us, so we adhere to the weight limits of our kayaks to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Our single kayaks have a weight limit of 130 kg, while our double kayaks have a weight limit of 210 kg.
