Important changes for the 24/25 Summer Season
Down Under Discoveries is thrilled to be bringing the 'Waterways Adventure Hub' to local waters this summer! Our pop-up hub is planned for the scenic Inner Marina Waters, the perfect location to kick off your summer explorations. Whilst we eagerly await final approval for our allocation, we want you to know that we are ready to dive in as soon as the green light is given. Although we can't take any further bookings at this stage due to the uncertainty of where we will be, stay tuned - dates, times and increase in service offerings will be confirmed as soon as we get the go ahead. We're absolutely buzzing to get you out on the water, discovering the stunning waterways that make Mandurah the true gem it is today.

We supply: Kayaks, paddles, life jackets, dry bags, route suggestions, intro to kayaking tutorial & safety briefing.
Equipment details: We use Dream Kayaks which are proven to be one of the most sturdiest kayaks on the water. We have 8 single kayaks with a weight limit of 130kg each. We have 2 double kayaks with a weight limit of 210kg. We also have 3 kids kayaks suitable for ages 8-12 with a weight limit of 55kg. We use manual PFD (life jackets) which we find a lot more comfortable wearing when out on the water but do have some standard if necessary.
Cost & Duration:
1hr hire: Single Kayaks $25, Doubles $40, Kids Kayaks (8-12) $20
3hr hire: Single Kayaks $50, Doubles $70, Kids Kayaks (8-12) $30
Half Day Hire: Single Kayaks $85, Doubles $110, Kids Kayaks (8-12) $55

Hire Inclusions

All kayaking equipment is provided including: kayak, paddle, safety gear and waterproof storage bag for your belongings.

Full safety brief and basic paddling instructions before you start your hire.

Suggested paddle routes and self-guided itineraries.
What to Bring

Waterproof walking shoes, and weather appropriate clothing/protection.

Bottle of Water and snacks.

Waterproof bag is handy to hold your items but not essential. We provide a small bag for keys/phone etc

Hire Site TBC
Please allow plenty of travel time getting to your destination. Late arrivals risk less time on the water as we often have to stick to strict drop off/pick up times.
Additional Information
Paddle length & difficulty
There is an abundance of options to cater to all needs.
No paddling experience is needed. We provide you a safety briefing and show you how to paddle our very stable sit-on top kayaks.
Are the hire options child friendly
Children under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age for participation is 8 years old. Younger can possibly be catered for in the double kayaks but please get in contact first.
Do the kayaks have weight limits?
Yes. Your safety is important to us therefore we must stick within our equipment carrying capabilities.
Our single Dream Kayaks have a weight limit of 130kg
Our double Dream Kayaks have a weight limit of 210kg
Our kids kayaks have a weight limit of 55kg (ages 8-12)
What happens if it is too windy?
If we need to cancel due to weather conditions (too windy), alternative dates will be offered. If you purchased your hire directly through Down Under Discoveries and there is no suitable alternative date available for a cancelled hire, we are more than happy to arrange a refund for you.
