Paddle Trail Options: Mandurah has an abundance of paddle trails to choose from with varied lengths and difficulties.
We supply: Drop off and Pickup service, Kayaks, paddles, life jackets, dry bags, route suggestions, intro to kayaking tutorial & safety briefing.
Equipment details: We use the Dream Kayaks which are proven to be one of the most sturdiest kayaks on the water. We have 8 single kayaks with a weight limit of 130kg each. We have 2 double kayaks with a weight limit of 210kg. We also have 3 kids kayaks suitable for ages 8-12 with a weight limit of 55kg. We use manual PFD (life jackets) which we find a lot more comfortable wearing when out on the water but do have some standard if necessary.
Availability: Our Kayak hire is available on demand with a minimum of 2 people. Please note that hires are done around our other tour services, therefore all bookings will be treated as requests until we are able to confirm our availability. We do recommend having an alternative date in mind just in case your first option is not available.
Cost & Duration:
3hr hire: Single Kayaks $50, Doubles $70, Kids Kayaks (8-12) $30
Half Day Hire: Single Kayaks $75, Doubles $95, Kids Kayaks (8-12) $45
Please note that the Murray River Launchsite has an additional $50 delivery fee due to it's remote location. This is a once off extra charge applied per booking.

Mandurah Marina Launchsite
This launchsite is a great starting point for paddlers wishing to head underneath Town Bridge & explore the waterways around Mandjar Bay, Stingray Point, Mandurah Marina, Venetian Canals & Dolphin Quay.

The perfect launchsite for paddlers wishing to head out into the Peel-Harvey Estuary and explore the waterways around Creery Island, Channel Island, Boundary Island & Canals.

Murray River Launchsite
Ideal start point for paddlers wishing to explore the Murray River, encountering dolphins, abundant birdlife, unique waterside residences, Coopers Mill, or indulge in a paddle 'n pint experience at waterside restaurants.

Launchsite Locations
Please allow plenty of travel time getting to your destination. Late arrivals risk less time on the water as we often have to stick to strict drop off/pick up times.

Paddle length & difficulty
There is an abundance of options to cater to all needs.
No paddling experience is needed. We provide you a safety briefing and show you how to paddle our very stable sit-on top kayaks.
Are the hire options child friendly
Children under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age for participation is 8 years old. Younger can possibly be catered for in the double kayaks but please get in contact first.
Do the kayaks have weight limits?
Yes. Your safety is important to us therefore we must stick within our equipment carrying capabilities.
Our single Dream Kayaks have a weight limit of 130kg
Our double Dream Kayaks have a weight limit of 210kg
Our kids kayaks have a weight limit of 55kg (ages 8-12)
What happens if it is too windy?
If we need to cancel due to weather conditions (too windy), alternative dates will be offered. If you purchased your hire directly through Down Under Discoveries and there is no suitable alternative date available for a cancelled hire, we are more than happy to arrange a refund for you.
